Following an enquiry via our web form we are normally able to discuss and agree a cake design over e-mail.  This allows you to consider designs, and haven an e-mail trail through to a final design decision.  Some customers do prefer to have a face to face discussion as part of the design process.  This does take more time, as we then need to write up the design or designs that came from the discussion, and send it to you to make sure that the final design is agreed.  Therefore we do need to charge for the design consultation, although we will deduct the cost from the cake total if you do decide to order a cake.

A cake consultation with initial design, pricing and samples will be as follows:

• We will meet in person with you at our shop at 38 Market Street, Ely, Cambridgeshire.    

• We will prepare some samples of up to 3 cake flavours, for you to take away and try at your leisure, or eat with us.  It’s up to you.

• We will discuss all your plans and requirements

• We will work through different options with you, to help you refine your thoughts to a likely preferred design concept

• You can look at the variety of stands that you may want to hire along with the cake or cupcakes

• We will discuss whether you want us to deliver and set up the cake, or if you will collect the cake yourself and get it to your venue

• After the meeting, we will provide you with a design description, and sketches if appropriate

• We will provide you with a price for the cake, and any options that were discussed that may increase or decrease the price

• We will reserve the date in our diary for up to 60 days.

The price for the consultation is:

• Tuesday – Thursday daytime: £25

• Weekday evening, or Saturday daytime: £50

​

If you decide to order a cake from Hand Crafted Cupcakes, then £25 consultation fee will be deducted from the final price
