Sheena had received a cake from us before, and she wanted to challenge us with something special for her sister Lorna's 40th birthday celebration cake.
Lorna loves Terry Pratchett’s books. So Sheena asked us to create a cake representing Discworld, with the elephants on the back of the turtle flying through space.
She certainly came up with a challenge for us, that we were pleased to take up! Each elephant on the back took around 8 hours to create and the turtle itself, all carved from delicious cake took 24 hours.
In making this cake, not only did we have to get the details right - we had to contend with gravity, which was one thing that Terry Pratchett didn't have to contend with in his books, because he could make up rules for the world which don't apply here on earth.

Flavour: Vanilla and strawberry
Approx servings: 15-20 (depends upon portion sizes)
Size: 6 inch half sphere on top of a half-height 6" round cake
Shape: Carved
